Wooden checker is a training copy of a cold weapon, which belongs to the type of one-handed chopping and stabbing weapons. The length of the checkers, as a rule, was no more than 1 meter. Checkers did not have a protective guard, as in a saber, but in some designs there could be an ephesus in the form of a half-ring to protect the fingers. The weapon has a small minimum deflection. The main emphasis when striking blows with a checker was made on a chopping blow (principle of defeat with one blow). Checkers were used in both cavalry and infantry. The wood is treated with natural oil, which adds shine, emphasizes the wood structure, and protects it from moisture and dirt.
Parameters:
Total length - 80 cm
The length of the blade - 64 cm
The length of the handle - 16 cm
Weight 500-550 grams

Material: European Hornbeam
European Hornbeam is a fine wood, with a beautiful creamy color. It's one of the woods called “ironwood". It's hard, takes sheering forces well, and is almost exemplary for practice weapons.
*The black checker is treated with a special multilayer black impregnation and oil.
