Wooden saber is a prototype of an iron weapon that has been used since ancient times in different countries. The saber has a curved blade, a sharp edge at the bottom and protection for the hands (guard). The saber was primarily used both in cavalry and infantry. Its advantage over the sword was a much smaller weight, which allowed significantly speeding up shock-defense actions. Along with this, the force of the blow and the depth of the depression were compensated by the curvature of the "working part" of the blade, which made it possible to use the "cutting" effect in the blow. The wood is treated with natural oil, which adds shine, emphasizes the wood structure, and protects it from moisture and dirt.

European Ash has fairly good strength properties for its weight, and is also shock resistant. Its tensile strength and fold strength exceeds the strength of white oak wood. It is elastic, wear-resistant and more viscous.
